The Straits Times – March 10, 2021
In conjunction with Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month in March, Singapore Cancer Society contributed an article to the Straits Times to create more awareness on the No.1 and No.2 diagnosed cancer in Singaporean men and women respectively. As a senior consultant, General Surgery at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH), Dr. Sim Hsien Lin emphasised the importance of health screening for early detection of colorectal cancer. She cautioned that “some patients with colorectal cancer have no symptoms. By the time symptoms appear, it could be too late. Therefore it is always advisable to go for screening to detect and treat the cancer before it spreads.”
